Here are some tips to become a better agent:  

 

How committed are you?  

If you have chosen to become a real estate agent, then you are in the right place. I want you to start an open dialog between yourself.  

 

I want you to ask yourself these things:  

 

“Is this something I can see myself doing for the long haul?”  

“Am I comfortable with the potential uncertainty I may face in the real estate world?” 

 

Introspection is a hard pill to swallow but is worth it in the long term. To succeed in this business, you have to be willing to go all in. Are you all in?  

 

Are you a part of a team or flying solo 

If you are a new agent, consider joining a team. Being part of a team allows you the opportunity to be in proximity to people who have experience. A team also allows you access to the ins and outs of the industry from your peers, these people will tell it like it is. Teams allow you to learn from experience and receive honest feedback. Understand success isn’t a sprint 

Being successful in real estate isn’t going to happen overnight. This career requires time and dedication. Know why you chose real estate and focus on making those goals happen.  

 

Know the Market 

One of the quickest ways to build confidence in what you do is to know your market.  

It’s vital to know what’s selling, how quickly, what’s not selling and why, what’s going on with interest rates, and more. 

Doing this allows you to identify trends and guide your clients to successful outcomes. It is also important to be informed about other features in your market like schools, crime rate, HOAs, public transportation and neighborhoods.  

Build and Organize Your Database 

Stay organized and keep your databases updated. Create a robust list of contacts that will help spread your name and grow your clientele. Top Tip: Use your CRM!  

 

Get Comfortable on Video & Social Media 

Social media and video is king. Nothing connects you to your clients more than an active social media presence. Engaging with your audience will make interactions more personal.  

 

Top Tip: BE YOURSELF! If you aren’t comfortable in front of a camera or don’t like your voice…practice, practice, practice. Allow your audience to see your personality.  

 

Utilize video on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube. The key to creating an effective video is acting like you’re talking directly to a friend. When creating videos, follow this tip: “If you say it, show it.”

Know your pitch 

Practice makes perfect. Know and practice your pitch before meeting with your clients. If you are confident in your script, you will find it easier to sell.  

 

To practice, find a partner you can role play with, such as a spouse, friends, family members, and co-workers. Spending a few minutes a day memorizing your pitch will show your clients you’re informed and are an expert in your field. 

 

Always be open to learning  

Be a sponge! There is no such thing as knowing too much. Read books, attend networking events, shadow a person you admire, do it all! Take what you like from these sources, see what works for you and ditch what doesn’t. The key to success is to be a life-long learner.  

 

Have a person in your corner 

Whether this person is a mentor, family member, or a close friend there comes a time that you will need someone in your corner. Things may not be difficult right now but real estate can be a rollercoaster, having someone to turn to when things get stressed or feeling overwhelmed.
